Hello TCDb community. Here we go again.....
We have an IR in stating that there are 2 versions of every card in this set, one with one asterisk and another with two asterisks on the back.
I have a complete set that I have from the original set - they have one * on the back - all 132 cards.
I also have all 8 Phillies cards from the set in my Phillies binder (these are in addition to my set), and 4 of them have two ** on the back - so I know of at least 4 that definitely do exist. The submitter of the IR has complete sets of both. Currently, the images displayed show a mix. Therefore, we will be updating the set to include both versions. Just a heads up.

Just checked my FS - they all have the single *. So looks like if you have a FS, it will have one or the other. If you collected individual cards, you could have either.

Bruno, not sure about that. From what I remember, they were only distributed in factory set (FS) form. Therefore, even if you have singles from this set, you still have cards that were originally in a complete FS package.
I am making the assumption that each set was either * or it was **. (I don't think I got the Phillies all from the same place, nor do I have any idea where they sourced from anyway if I did get them at one time from one source.)
Anyway, this was really a heads up that these are coming in some form. I have the question into Admin as to how it should be on the site - VARs or a parallel. Not up for debate or discussion, nor do I want to know people's preferences. I only care how Admin tells me to proceed.

I believe it had to do with which factory printed the cards. Some factory sets were printed in PA, others were printed in (I think) MI. I don't know which got * and which got **, just that it was the indicator.

Actually Dan, it is what I meant - that a FS still intact would have either one or two. But as you did, bought individual Phillies from different sources, you could have a mix.

Bruno, I read too quickly, and I missed your "one or the other", I only saw "one". My mistake. My apologies.

No apologies required. Was not sure if I had been clear.

Just checked my set and I have the ** version.
At what point do we just put something in the release notes of a set saying cards can vary between * and ** to keep things simple? Or do we need it separated out because of what people like to collect?

The problem I see with that BigEd is, ex. Dan has a ** complete set, but Philly cards w/ *. What does he do? Detail add?
Actually with all the suggestions I've received about noting cards, the site does have options for doing a lot of things to bring attention to all sorts of cards. Maybe these areas need a little more "eye opening" graphics or highlighting to catch your attention.
