Is there anyway to tell what ERR/VAR/COR a 1991 Topps baseball wax box is? My guess is probably nothing on the outside but if I were to open 1 pack, would that tell me what the remainder of the packs would be? The reason I ask is because there seems to be a ton of members looking for the specific versions to complete master sets. I'd love to work some trades with these

No way to know which ERR, VAR, or COR cards you will find in wax packs until you open them. They printed 1991 in several different runs, not correcting all at once and several VARs are only found in specific packaging types.

For example, you may find a COR Don Mattingly with an ERR Jose Gonzalez, in one box and a COR Mattingly and COR Gonzalez in another box.

I picked up a box of these a couple of weeks ago at the expo in Toronto. It was half the price of the o-pee-chee box, which I thought was strange, haven't opened it yet. Not worried about the variations myself, just want to finish the set. I hope someone can answer your question though. 

I was looking to pick a box of these as well in hopes that I would find a Whiten ERR - but I was wondering the same as you - is there a way to know?

The OPC version was printed in smaller quantities and that's the main reason as to why it was available for a higher price.

Just a head up...Each of the five 1991 O-Pee-Chee boxes I've opened has contained severely wrecked cards throughout the entire box. Not just the standard rough cuts with OPC but components of the gum dissolved and soaked through almost each card in every pack. Basically unsalvageable so I stopped messing with them. IDK if this is an issue unique to 1991 (haven't opened any prior year boxes) but I know it happens with 1989 OPC Batman too.
