Year: 1999

Set: Topps WCW/nWo Nitro (Rate)

Card: #13 Rey Mysterio

“ I remember when Bischoff made Mysterio and Psycosis take their masks off after losing stipulation matches, blatantly disregarding the heritage of Luche Libre wrestlers. He also forced Kane and Abyss to unmask for a one time payoff (Kane on free TV, not even ppv), totally robbing these guys of the intrigue and mystique that they spent years building up. ” -Id8jlb8666

“ When healthy, you could always count on Rey to put on one of the best matches of the night at any event he wrestled at. It's amazing that fifteen years ago, he was already a nine-year veteran. Definite WWE Hall of Famer when he finally hangs the mask up for good. ” -switzr1

“ 1 of the best high flyers & entertainers in the business. Not too bad card design. ” -uncaian

“ WOW is right. ” -CluelessJoe

“ Don't mess with the mask. ” -jlaz10

“ There was a senior? ” -carthage44

“ One of the greatest of all time, before losing his mask and bulking up too much. This was him in his prime. ” -DaClyde

“ Now those were the days! I still remember the stable he was in and how he looked when he finally took off the mask! ” -Joshua825

I liked Rey when he was in WCW. My favorite moment had to be when he was thrown head first into the side of the trailer. I remember having this set as well, at least most of them. At some point, I'd like to collect it again.
