Sunday, February 10, 2008Year: 1972 Heisman trophy winner, 1st overall pick, NFL Rookie of the Year, Jim Plunkett started off his NFL career with lots of promise, but injuries and interceptions later, he found himself as a backup in Oakland. Then the starter got hurt and Plunkett led the Raiders all the way to a Super Bowl victory, picking up MVP honors. After becoming a backup again, another injury to another starter had him taking the Raiders to another Super Bowl victory in 1983. |
