Year: 2007

Set: Topps Heritage III WWE (Rate)

Card: #38 Chris Masters

“ Very nice design. A great wrestling card. ” -muskie027

“ I kinda like 1980 Topps. If I liked wrestling, I would love these.....except the back ” -Splinter_9

“ The Masterpiece performing the Master Lock ” -trauty

“ Gotta love the ArmBar... looks like Topps went to the 1980 banner for the base of the card. There is a ton of border, a auto collector could probably get a sig without disturbing the picture.... ” -Smokin_joe

“ What I like about this card, the banner with his name is cool. What I don't like about this card, everything else. ” -davidhandberry

“ If you're gonna use the vintage design, at least use it the right way. The 'player' name should not be in the ribbon near the bottom, but should be in the gaping blank white space along the top edge. Then again, when has Topps ever cared about faithfully replicating their classic designs? ” -mkaz80

“ The placement of the name banner over the other guy's face made me laugh. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ nice classic look. but real wrestling is done on a mat not in a ring ” -Thunderfoot

“ Wrastlin' Card for Random COD YEAH! UM OK 1980 baseball design for Heritage. I like it but it does look rather plain even the back looks rather plain. ” -captkirk42

“ Didn't he tag team with The Rock as "Masters & Johnston"? ” -kents_stuff

“ Roid rage. ” -royals

Wow, Chris Masters. I remember he got pushed to the moon in 2005 feuding with Shawn Michaels and John Cena. He did nothing of note after that.

If feuding with Michaels and Cena doesn't get you over either as a heel or a face, then you're pretty much damned to midcard, dark shows, or heading back to the independant circuit.

Never was a big fan of Masters but didn't mind his push.  I thought the Masterlock was a nice gimmick and finisher.

My favorite story about him though is the time he saved his mom's life after her house was set on fire.  He pulled a 10 foot tree out of the ground with his bare hands so he could open a path for him mom to get out.  Could be a tall tale, but I for some reason believe it.  Maybe because I once pulled a tree out of the ground myself. Nowhere near 10 feet but still.

I saw something to do with babies, but it wasn't the delivery aspect of it.  I don't have the heart to tell him that's now how they get made, though, either.
