Year: 1990

Set: Classic WWF (Rate)

Card: #130 Andre the Giant

“ Very plain card back for being from Classic. Andre looks very very young in this photo. ” -captkirk42

“ I didn't know Fezzik had an alternate career! ” -bpaul14

“ Best wrestling card that has ever been RCOTD. Legend, good photo, nice font. ” -Duke

“ Legend. That is all ;) ” -stevejrogers

“ I love Classic cards. I would love to see some Classic design vintage parallel cards in Topps. ” -CardFlipper1974

“ I watched wrestling in the old days...well, back in my youth, and remember Bobby "the brain" Heenan and Andre the Giant, like attached at the hip, since they seemed to be always in front of the camera together. When Andre was in the ring...yeah, he was one giant dude of a wrestler. The card has a nice little bio of Andre on the back. I like this card. ” -CollectingAfterDeath

“ An absolute legend! ” -muskie027

Andre was a great legend.....He was one of the reasons why I figured out that wrestling was fake ;)

Richfield Coliseum in Cleveland I had tickets to see WWF (at the time) and it was Andre the Giant vs. The Ultimate Warrior.  Andre was standing in the ring waiting for UW to come out.....UW comes RUNNING down the entrance around the ring twice, jumps up...bounces off two ropes, drop kicks Andre and pins him and end of match......MAYBE a total of two minutes.  Andre had a good 2' on UW too!  He TOWERED over people.

My favorite scene in Princess Bride was when Inigo Montoya holds up Andre's hand and compares it to his....WOW!

Astros stole my signature....

Quite a simple card, not too flashy, and but that's probably the way Andre would like it.

Perhaps a day late on RCOTD since his birthday was yesterday.  Like an earlier post, I first saw him in person in Cleveland--just not close enough to see how big he really was.

Probably close enough to make the Random Card of the Day Coincidences list!
