Year: 1994-95

Set: Hoops (Rate)

Card: #188 Wayman Tisdale

“ Such a boring card. Through the years action shots on basketball has been great or goofy looking. This is the latter. ” -CardFlipper1974

“ This was the second year I was on hiatus from collecting. I really like the look of this one. ” -muskie027

“ I love this set...one of my all-time favorite designs. When I first got into the NBA I got a box of these at my local Kmart, I no longer remember which series, and it kick-started my NBA collection. Eventually I finished the set, wish it was larger. Wayman unfortunately died young from complications of diabetes...which hits way too close to home here. Toby Keith did a very touching tribute song to him. I've only been able to bring myself to watch it a couple of times, not going to lie, it made my eyes leak. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Way cool, man! ” -twfurey

“ Like the card . #2 pick after Ewing in 85 . Chris Mullin was #7 "Mailman" Malone #13 . ” -ericidol1984

“ Nice basic design. ” -kirkscards

“ Wayman! Such a talented man with so much life. Gone way too soon. ” -titanup74

“ OK card. ” -captkirk42

So sad to learn of Tisdale's very young death in 2009 via this thread (I wasn't paying much attention to basketball at the time so had never heard this before). Tisdale had a lengthy recording career as a bass player after retiring from basketball, releasing about 9 or 10 albums as a band leader and appearing on many more.
