Year: 2007

Set: Traks (Rate)

Card: #71 Jimmie Johnson

“ Really great to see a card photo from Victory Junction...for those that don't know, it's a camp for terminally ill children run by the Petty family in honor of Adam Petty, who was killed in an accident at age 20 in 2000. Even at his age, Adam was already laying the groundwork for it if I remember correctly. The families of the children pay nothing, it's all done by volunteers and donation. I personally have donated to it. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Looks like he is bowling. ” -kirkscards

“ Who do you think you are? I am!!!!!! ” -parsley24

“ UM OK its a racing card. I thought it was a bowling card at first. "Hey the reset button is broken" LOL. ” -captkirk42

“ Looks like he is bowling. ” -Brendan Barrick

“ Great cause! Terrible card. ” -SandersFan

“ Wow,some of these really ARE random,huh? ” -OogaBooga

“ When did Jimmie Johnson do a bowling action shot? ” -muskie027

“ this particular subset does do this set justice, the base set has a beautiful design, but this not so much ” -Thunderfoot

I'm not replying about the card this time. I'm replying to the replies about this card! Yes, Jimmie is bowling AND it was for a great cause. Like Billy Kingsley, I have also donated money to the Victory Junction Gang Camp founded by the Petty family in Adam Petty's honor. We probably both donated through the NUTS website at the same time each year for a few years. VJGC serves about the same purpose as St. Jude's or JDRF. Victory Junction is not a hospital or research facility though. It is a fun park for kids with disabilities of all types. The funds raised by the camp do go to funding research and treatment for child ailments. It's a truly worthy beneficiary of all funds received. I'd love to get the chance to visit the camp and meet some of the children that have benefitted from getting to attend it! I'm happy to have provided some money when I could afford to do so for such a great cause.

As for the set, I like the 2007 Traks set much better than any other Traks set made before this one. There was no Traks set made after this one. Press Pass really made a great product with the 2007 Traks set.

You're right Spaz, nobody read the back of the card...he's bowling.  Wasn't there a Users List about players depicted doing other than their own sport?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
