This card brings me back to the instant fandom that all Bears fans have for the local guy (HS or College) drafted to be the backup and special teamer.

I think the Marvin Harrison card from this insert looks good.  Can't figure out if it's because of the indy uni having a sort of color match with the card or if its just becuase it is Marvin Harrison.  Either way they didn't do god awful picking the 15 names for this.  I have atleast heard of 6 of them with a couple of hall of famers.

It's always a worry when the background is better than the photos.

To answer the commenter that had no clue who this guy is, I wanted to test my reservoir of useless knowledge. The following came only from my brain without any internet searching.

As pointed out by someone already, he went to Northwestern. This was when Northwestern came out of nowhere and became good, winning their conference and going to Rose Bowl after years of being at the bottom of their conference. This was before BCS when going to Rose Bowl was still a huge deal in itself for teams. After the clinching game to make it to the Rose Bowl, teams would always put roses in their mouths even though the roses have thorns. When teams would get close making the Rose Bowl, everyone would ask or say something about smelling roses. Michael Wilbon smelled the roses given it was his alma mater and he talked about it a lot on PTI. This happened at about the same time Oregon did the same, although Northwestern had the added feature of being an elite academic university which made it a tad more improbable and impressive. Oregon and Northwestern did not meet in the Rose Bowl and I cant remember who Northwestern played from Pac-10 but I am pretty sure Northwestern lost. I remember learning about Darnell Autry majoring in theater, or at least being really into theater at the school which its known for. So maybe he is an actor now. I also learned back then that Northwestern is located in Chicago, which I found weird because I don't think Chicago is located in the West. Perhaps the name has more to do with it being in the Northwestern part of Chicago.

If any of the above is incorrect, or anyone also has some more useless knowledge they want to add, I would love to hear.

I remember watching the Rose Bowl that put Autry on the map. Back in the pre-playoff days when the Rose Bowl mattered and people watched it.

Wow, this is a nice-looking card. I thought it was for a set in the last few years. Not 1997.
