“ Another Miggy card? I feel like there was just one on RCOTD not too long ago. Front looks really cool but I do hate the laziness of using the same photo on the back of the card. ” -jdogg1228

“ That uniform hangs on him like a bad suit. Or maybe PJs. I do like the front design and the photo. ” -hamrlik22

“ Sorry this card has a very ugly background on the front and also the back. I can't even tell what the background is, is it supposed to be some kind of mitt/glove? ” -captkirk42

Fun story: I was in Cooperstown with my travel team for a 12U tournament at Cooperstown All-Star Village. Best week of my life.

I was known as the only true card collector on the team; however, me and about 7 of my teammates ended up in a card shop in town during right after our visit to the hall of Fame, and a bunch of my teammates bought some packs. One of my friends was a big Giants fan (his grandfather used to be the GM and he bat-boyed for the team one summer), and he was big on some random up-and-coming 1B named Brandon Belt.

Anyway, I usually didn't get much Bowman back then because my allowance only just barely was enough to buy a few packs of Topps every few weeks, but I decided to get some 2011 Bowman on this day. I ended up pulling 3 different Belt cards, but my friend pulled a Chase Utley refractor version of this very set (2011 Bowman's Beat) numbered to /99. Being a massive Phillies and Chase Utley fan, I badgered him for it, and ended up making the trade using all the Belt cards and a few others. Totally worth it.

I later decided to try and put together the complete 25 card set of veteran refractors /99 since I had such fond memories of that week. It took 10 years, many ebay/COMC searches, and patience, but early last year I acquired the final card in the set -- Kevin Youkilis. Shout out to scottzoe for trading that final piece which I couldn't find anywhere online.

That background ruins the card.

The background looks like lava in a volcano.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

Interesting card.  I kind of like graphics backgrounds on cards.  Reminds me of inserts from the 90s.

You are exactly right! This set is modeled after the 1994 Bowman's Best set.

Definitely looks like a 90s product. Yuck! Should have named the set "Bowman's Worst"
