It's easy, free and fun--no knowledge of football required.
EDIT: The grid is now filled and numbers have been picked. Just in case you're not 100% clear on how this game works, you can google "how to play Super Bowl Squares" for some good explanations. Good luck to everyone!
See the EDIT in item #3 below. Grid has been updated as of 11:59ish pm Saturday--only 18 squares left as of this post. Squares claimed on Saturday have been highlighted in lavender. One other thing--as much as I like to accommodate people, please do not request that I claim a square for you.
When selecting your square, also check the newer posts for newly claimed squared that may not yet have been included in the latest updated grid. So far, C2Cigars was the last claimed square that I've included in this update. Clicking on the grid will enlarge it.
How to play:
1. Through 11:59 pm Pacific time, Friday 2/9: Each entrant posts here in this thread their choice of ONE square from the grid below. (Example: "I'll take square F8.") I'll replace the grid #'s with member names as often as I can. Once a square is claimed, no other member can claim it. Check all posts carefully (and the grid) so that you don't pick a square that's already been claimed.
2.After 11:59 pm Pacific time, Friday 2/9 through 11:59 pm Pacific time, Saturday 2/10: Assuming there are still unclaimed squares, each entrant will post their choice of one or possibly two squares, depending on how many total squares were picked on Friday. I'll post how many squares to pick late Friday night. EDIT: ALL members may claim a maximum of one square on Saturday, even whether or not you have claimed a square on Friday. I'll be highlighting the Saturday squares in a different color. If you did not claim a square on Friday, go ahead and claim one unclaimed square but everyone is limited to only one square for Saturday (through 11:59 pm Pacific).
3. After 11:59 pm Pacific time through 12:30 pm Sunday: If there are still squares available, entrants may pick more squares until the grid is filled. I'll post how many squares to pick late Saturday night. Keep in mind that squares picked early do not have any advantage over squares picked later. But you can maximize your chances by claiming a square each day.
-------> EDIT: As of 2:00 am Sunday morning there were 18 14 squares left to be claimed. ALL members may now go ahead and post their choice of ONE unclaimed square for Sunday until all squares are claimed. As usual it's first come, first served. Keep in mind that the last unclaimed square was claimed on Friday.
The goal is to have all 100 squares claimed by as many members as possible by 12:30 pm (Pacific) Sunday afternoon. After that I will randomly choose numbers 0-9 to fill the yellow squares and the gold squares.
Winners are determined by the second digits of the score at the end of 1st, 2nd, 3rd quarters and the final score. For example, if the 49ers have a 14-6 1st quarter lead, the player who claimed the square with a "4" for the 49ers and a "6" for the Chiefs is the winner of Prize #1. Also, it is possible that a square can win more than once
Grid last updated at approximately 12:30 pm (Pacific) Sunday.
