Since even after more than a year my blog posts won't generate on the site (though I've asked about it), figured I'd share this one in the forum.
Based on the January Beckett being 1980s themed and the About the Cards guys giving their top cards and sets of the 1980s, I figured I'd offer up my opinions.
Would love to see other blogger post about it!
I LOVE THE 1980S!

My top 5 '80s sets are:
- 1989 Topps - love the swoosh design and clean looking cards;
- 1989 Bowman - love the BIG cards and the nostalgia they bring to '50s cards;
- 1988 Topps - the first set I bought when returning to the hobby, I have since broken it down and traded many of the cards for team sets or PC;
- 1986 Donruss - there's someting about the blue borders that I find very attractive;
- 1986 Topps - love the black border with the bold letering atop the cards.
My top 5 cards from the '80s:
- '86 Topps Traded #11T Barry Bonds XRC - the first "expensive" card I ever owned;
- '86 Topps #389 Glenn Davis - I hated seeing the Big Bopper traded to Baltimore;
- '89 Donruss #561 Craig Biggio RC - he became my favorite all-time Astro after he retired;
- 1988 Fleer Baseball All-Stars #34 Nolan Ryan - so many to pick from, but only as an Astro;
- 1989 Topps #726 Dickie Thon - he was never the same after being beaned as an Astro, but this picture shows he bounced back and had a lengthy career.

I like the music from the 80's. But then I'm old any way.

Not old enough if you liked 80s music. Classic rockers like me held on to U2 to get us from the 70s through the 80s music with some semblance of normalcy.

The 80's was far and away the greatest decade ever for music. Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Survivor, Van Halen, Poison, Night Ranger, and so many others made up the songs that I consider the soundtrack to my life. Even Kiss, who is more known for what they did in the 70's, came out with some great stuff in the 80's. In retrospect, I think I enjoy 80's Kiss even more so than 70's Kiss (and I love 70's Kiss).
