Hello All,
Looking for some input. I am guessing I have 60-70 3,000-5,000 count card boxes. Any easy way to use this site to help identify what is in each box? I just finished with my first box and realized that it won't do me much good if I can't retrieve what is in each box.
Any help would be appreciated!

The "C" in TCDB stands for "cards" not clairvoyance. I'm not sure how this site can tell what's in a box that YOU look into.

Looks like we need a clarification on what you mean and trying to accomplish. If you are trying to find the cards in the database we can help out if you give some examples of cards you can't find.

I think he's asking about a place where he can annotate in what box a card might be in. Or flip it and say x box contains x cards. The Comments field can achieve the first part.
Tho I had the same 1st take as "clairvoyance"

Best solution to your dilemma is proper organization of your physical collection. Is it a sets collection, a player collection, both, and do you have traders you hope to exchange for cards you want?
A collection that is all mixed up in several boxes will remain exactly that - all mixed up.

Hello Jeff, without knowing more about your collection. I will just give a few notes about how my (available traders) are physically organized.
I have all of one manufacturer (topps flagship, fleer, etc in one box) sometimes one box by Era.
I have one box of oddball that includes food issues, stickers. Minor league, inserts in a different box. One box for 'misc sets like stadium club pinnacle, etc).
My misc boxes are not in perfect order inside. But all pinnacle are together, etc...
Hope this helps.

I have over 190,000 cards marked "For Trade" in the database. I keep them all in 3,200ct boxes (over 70 boxes). Each box has a label: Baseball Box #1, Baseball Box #2, and so on. I keep the cards sorted in the boxes the same way the trade wizard sorts the trade proposal: Sport > Year > Alphabetical by Set > Numerical with the set. Then I just use a printed Word Document to note what's inside each box: "Baseball Box #1: 1978 Topps - 1981 Topps", "Baseball Box #2: 1982 Fleer - 1984 Dunruss", etc. Time consuming to set up, but worth it when pulling for trades. Good Luck, Craig

I'm similar to that approach, although I'm only just at the tip of the iceburg of entering in my doubles. Currently I only have the ones up for trade broken down into three 2000 count boxes. I have Topps in one box, other brands in the 2nd and non baseball in the 3rd. Each is then broken out by brand and year with the exception of a few randoms that I don't have too many of and they are all just lumped together.
As they get low from trading I take a random box of doubles and start added more to them. Since I'd like to get more trades going and clear out more doubles, I'm considering moving to a 3k count box or two for organization purposes.

I re-read my post, and it is very vague. I appreciate all the input. I think I've figured out a way by having different "collections" for each box and can then print out each set of paperwork when I need the information. I'll also create an OVERALL collection to reference when needed. A lot of work, but I'll be glad it is done. Thanks again!

I'm pretty sure that me wanting to have an ability to look at a page, find my card, have it tell me which box it is in, then go to a box to pull a card is pretty clear. I figured it out with someone else's input. Thanks for being helpful.
