COMC standard shipping times take forever. That is all I have to say.

I just requested a shipment yesterday. Est. ship date is 6-23. Definitely better than during Covid, nowhere near pre-Covid. This order was over 100 cards. Maybe that makes it a bit longer?

As COMC shipping times have gotten longer, shipping costs have gotten higher.

Doesn't really bother me. I let them sit there until I have about 100 cards and then I order. Takes about 3 weeks from the date I place the order. Most of what I am ordering is vintage, so if I waited 60 plus years to purchase the card, I can wait 3 weeks to get it in my possession.

Compared to other sources, it takes forever, but compared to what it used to be with them, it is currently very fast.
Also, up here, they transfer cards between their Seattle base and their Canadian counterpart only once per week. That means if you're in Canada, they will mail your cards domestically from Canada, but it will take at least 7-10 extra days to have your cards crossing the border. Instead of doing that, they seem to have the volume to get good shipping prices to ship to Canada from the U.S. and arrange prepaid customs, if this what bother them. Sportlots does it, bookstores does it, Amazon does it... In the worst case, they can arrange shipping a consolidated lot by overnight courier daily to their Vancouver address and ship from there. They have large operations indeed, but also seems to like complications too.

I've paid extra for expedited a couple times now - its not THAT much more and the couple times I did it I had an expensive card or two in there anyway and was a bit eager to get it into my safekeeping I guess. A couple others times recently I've done the standard shipment and had a fairly tidy 3 week turnaround and (more recently) about 5.5 weeks.

The thing that bugs me is the difference in price and times between the reasonably priced first option and then the next fastest one; it's just like the different sizes of popcorn at the movie theater where there is a size that has a reasonable amount of popcorn but then they have the super duper bucket with free refills that's just .50 cents more - I finally figured out they just overcharge for the smaller one and get you to go with the super duper bucket because of the small price differential seems like a no-brainer.

Mine was about 5 weeks too, but the faster one was double the price and takes a week; those numbers just seem a little weird, eg, half the price takes 5 times longer. and I know it's mainly I really really like the part of buying and then getting the cards as soon as possible. I know its relatively minor and will probably pay for the faster shipping next time.

Ship times are super fast compared to 2020 and 2021
I don't mind waiting since it saves ship cost to ship together at one time.

If you take a moment to think about the volume of shipping requests that they fill, a month is really not that bad.
I have 441 cards in COMC inventory right now that I've accumulated in the last year+, when I request shipment, someone(s) will have to go through their millions of cards and hand-pull these cards with virtually no mistakes, and they are processing these types of orders in the hundreds on the daily. I know how long it takes me to pull a 100-card trade from my stash of 25 boxes, I can't imagine how long it takes to pull cards on their side.
