The single screw screwdowns are fine for flat cards, meaning no chrome cards. Although it hasn’t been proven, there were collectors that claimed it scratches them up. I personally don’t like them anymore because it adds a lot of weight, takes up space, and are more expensive.

Thanks @Sportzking
I am with you on not using screwdowns — or one touches for that matter — for the exact same reasons.

So im learning something every time i arrive at this wonderful sight and i thank you all.My exclamation point on this topic is there really no right way or wrong way to display your cards its a matter of prefrence i suppose.Im running across the single screw holders and i think my old man screwed the screw down with an impact wrench lmao,Wow!Im thumbing through some of the card albums and something doesnt feel right.Inside are the thicker 9 card pages,i love em but the oldman ran out of pages so he started putting 2 cards to a slot, wtf?Gotta say nothing shocks me now...Happy Collecting...Peace...Got Bigger Fish to Fry

Many people put 2 cards per slot. It's been a while, but someone asked that question in the forums here, an informal poll, and the answers were largely mixed - probably about a 40/60 split (the majority going to single card per slot), but it was still about 40% doubling up. Space and money being the 2 main factors for doubling up (takes less space than using double the pages and obviously less pages, which is less cost to protect the same amount of cards).
Personally, I use both methods. I double up in my team collection, but in my sets* and HOF collections I use the single card per slot method.
* - One set I received in a binder doubled up in the pages, and I left that one as is.

Vroomed i appreciate the input. What i did was,When i began collecting the cardboard ,i was all about stuffin the 9 slot pages and found early on the real thin pages would wreak havoc on the cards after while.I went with the heavier pages,no problemo.Got back into the hobby a couple yrs ago and i literally bumped my head lol.I get this brain cramp of an idea to remove my cards from the pages to the single card holders in what i thot would be better for viewing..Is Illogical a word, lol. What a mess im still looking for the so many different boxes that i put these singles in,Brain Fart 101..So im back to the pages and albums and there they will stay...Peace

The beauty of it being a hobby and not work - you can do it however you want, and you don't even have to do it the same way for different things. :) Some of us have been in the hobby for 40+ years and are still evolving and changing things as we go.

Well spoken,Ive been on the outside looking in so to speak,I know enough about the hobby in general but i figured if i ever wanted to mix it up and do some buying and selling or trading i was gonna have to get involved, ask questions and use this sight for the tool it can be.Answer me this if you will,What percentage of a cards value could a person reasonably expect if they were going into a card shop to sell a card or cards..Roughly

Card shops will probably ask to pay you about 50% of what they will sell it at.
On a good day.

Well this thread was a revelation! I've had some of my best cards displayed in the Lucite holders for years and held my breath as I removed them. Thankfully, no casualties! Phew! Thanks again!
