Hey guy's it's Wayne (family1). I am a long time member, but not much of a posted. My family tells me more than once a week that I am LONG WINDED, (but as a Senior I get a pass) so please bare with me. If admin would just give me this one rant, I feel I can help us all. I have just spent 27 mins HERE entering about 100 + cards, and then went right over to Sportlots and entered the same lot in about 8. For the sake of this example let's say it was all the SAME set 1982 Topps with many dups. It takes 7 clicks using the enter multiple feature, then waiting for the site to recyle. I feel that if we were to use the features of 2 programs we are all familiar with ( Sportlots and the old Card Collector software. ) 1st) The Sportlots idea, let's do away with our current way of entering inventory, and just go with a quantiy box to add cards with a drop down for condition right next to it ,and then we could do away with having a different line for every card we own. 2nd) the Old Card Collector opition. Lets say we have our cards grouped by set or even player, and because they might not be in any particular order, if we were able to just enter a card # hit enter and have that card find it's new home either in a set inventory or player inxentory, look at all the time we would save. I know some of you have used the Card Collector in the past, so if you can expand on this idea, please do so. Thanks, for letting me rant. Wayne !!!

Wayne, I appreciate your rant, but the best thing to do is use the New Feature system to propose improvements to TCDB.

It is completely ridiculous. The way we have to add cards here. It's a few hours to add one set when you have wants and trades to add to just one set. Let alone looking over a set collection summary You have a count on the screen how many of the same card you have and it's page after page of a list showing. One card for every card you have. It is a complete mess. Columns and rows is how all paperwork is done to keep things clear and easy. My personal lists, each set fits on one page. but here a set can be 20 to 50 pages.
This is also why we all have mistakes on our listing. Having to count rows on a screen rather than one row for one card and columns with numbers in them. We count one, one, one. another one.........on this site and it's 2019 the age of computers.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

The Feature Tracker would be the way to go to improve or change our present system.
I'm so slow, a sloth could enter cards faster. lol. So not sure any system would help.
BUT... here is an example a set I've been battling with recently, the 1991 Donruss Baseball. The set is 2200+ cards because 3 variation sets [a,b,c] are merged. The idea was good, the application not so. Why? Let's say I have 1 complete set, I can't add it alone because there is no way except 1 card at a time. I decided to add all 2200+ cards, OK, takes care of the complete sets but leaves me struggling with the partial sets. Am I missing something with this set?

OMG did you read my mind!! Add multiples is one of my least liked parts of the DB, I tell people all the time I will not trade until my entire collection is entered (which I need to change BTW) and any way to speed it up would be great. I have thought the same thing but am not a poo-stir-up kinda guy. I too, tire from the 19 pages of one set. Yes put the suggestion in and I will vote a 10!!

"tire from the 19 pages of one set"; "a set can be 20 to 50 pages." At 1000 rows per checklist page how are you guys ending up with 20-50 pages of checklist? Have you checked your Profile settings (last item)?

I feel the same way. I want my entire collection entered before I trade. A big task indeed and a more efficienct way would be appreciated.

There is already a feature to add multiples from drop menus. Surely I'm not the only one who uses it. It takes one click per card number (unless you have more than 10 copies of it), and then an additional click to save at the bottom of the page before you scroll forward to the next page. I forget if there are 25 or 100 cards per page, but it seems like 25.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

That's what I use. There are only 25 rows (cards) per page. I'd like to see that increased or have the option to set how many rows the user prefers.
