when putting together a trade proposal I dont always pull/verify that I have the cards because well it's time consuming and if the trade proposal gets changed or declined/withdrawn it's more time to put the cards back - so i will proposal a trade stating that I will verify all cards before accepting the trade but recently (within the last 2 weeks or so) I have noticed that if I proposal a trade my trade partner will accept the trade and the trade is marked accepted on my side -- BUT i really havent accepted yet because I havent pulled/verified the cards -- I thought the trade proposal came back to me and I had to changed the status to accept (which would be done after pulling/verifying cards where the cards that i couldnt find would be countered out of the trade -- am i remembering something in the process incorrectly? -- thanks

I think you are misremembering. If you are the one proposing it you have by nature accepted it and that hasn’t changed. You only get to accept if there is a counteroffer.

The site has always (at least for the last several years) assumed when you propose a trade, you have accepted it. You can (or could) "double accept" but it doesn't change anything with the trade status, you can't decline, counter, or withdrawl at that point. I have run into a few people on here who have had trouble with this concept, and I think it comes from being able to double accept.

I suggest if you are concerned with your inventory accuracy that you just add a comment to tell the other person that if you do accept don't send until you can verify your inventory.

If I propose a trade, I make mention that I have not pulled the cards yet and on larger trades, I ask that they only Accept in principle but not to Accept till we have both pulled the cards. This has helped avoid the issue with missing cards. On smaller trades, I assume that the cards are available from the other member if he is proposing the trade. Unfortunately, too often it is not the case and a replacement is needed to be found.

No, it's never been that the initiator of the offer must "accept" before a trade is officially agreed to.
Simply confirm each card is in hand - not just logged in the system - before sending an offer and you won't have any issues.

What I do when I am making an offer is make sure that I can locate the card, but I don't necessarily pull them from their location. If it is a large trade and I don't want to look for them all, I will either tell the other trader I have not pulled them yet, and to let me know before they accept so that I can pull them, or I send an offer with only 1 card coming from me, telling them to add what will make the trade even, and that way they sort of become the trade initiator and I can accept when they counter my initial offer.

I echo what many have already said, but I understand why there isn't a second acceptance from the trade proposer. It would feel a bit false to have someone accept a trade that one proposed, only to find out that some cards aren't actually available from a non-accept by the proposer on the second accept attempt. This would feel a bit like a trap, or a bait-and-switch at least. I can see someone pretending to have a valuable card in a large trade, only to switch it out and try to get something from the other person with them hopefully not noticing.
If you don't wish to pull all the cards (and I can't blame you, especially for large trades that may go unanswered) maybe only find or pull that cards that might seem tough or important to find before proposing. It would at least cut down on some of the frustration with finding them later.

I always laugh at these replies. When you have several offers out with many cards. Pulling them ahead is mostly time consuming and useless fur fact that many traders CHAnGe The cards you offered. Now you have to put all these cards BACK.. and find the new ones. I try an send a message to reply back first if interested and then I'll pull them out for verification. Some will reply others just accept. No big deal. If a card is missing, most of us know this happens.

Pulling for several offers can become a quick organizational nightmare if adjustments or non-agreements result.
