 I agree Sudden Sam, I don't "pull" cards before I initiate a trade, but I DO make sure every card I offer is where it should be and is in the condition I stated it would be.  If the trade is neglected or rejected, the card stays home in it's place and no refiling is necessary.  If the trade is accepted, it's easy to pull and move forward.  I learned this lesson after not being able to find a card I offered and had to pull my copy from my collection.

I always pull the cards before making an offer or accepting one. 100%.

Also by pulling the cards it keeps me from offering them again if I'm doing multiple trades. On the other end, I use a printout of my wantlist to avoid accepting doubles.

I agree with those who are verifying their inventory is correct before sending a proposal.  I have traded on line since 1994 and have always verified I have the cards, but don't pull them until trade is accepted.  I quit pulling because I don't like to restock cards.  Recently, I have found by verifying cards for a trade that my TCDB inventory was not correct, it's happened several times.  I've also had cards that I received in a trade that have not gone into my TCDB inventory, they were still sitting "in transit".  The trades were all processed properly, so they should have moved to my inventory, but didn't.  That's just another reason why I verify before sending a proposal.  I understand the automated system works properly most of the time, but for me, each individual is responsible to verify their cards on either side of the proposal.

Your organizational skills are loads better than mine. In 2024 I'm averaging about 70 cards being sent out with each trade. Most of my trades are usually multi-sets and if I have my usual about 4-5 trades weekly (and they almost always need adjusting because I'm the king of the counter) - that's a lot of cards that potentially need refiling. And piles start again.

The TCDB system has been excellent in warning of duplication in trades - both in what is potentially coming in or going out - so I'm not sure why you'd need a printout. If there is duplication it'll show you which transactions they are and I'll check to make sure I have enough for each, else I'll adjust one of them.
