Card Identification Forum

I have three cards from the 1989 Star Wytheville Cubs that are different from the posted images. These have a complete blue border with white lettering. Those posted have a combination blue top/red bottom border and red/black lettering. Was there a color variation for the entire set?

These are the Platinum version, and yes, it was a parallel of the whole set (limited to 1,000 sets released).

Somewhere along the way I wound up with roughly 200+ Star cards from 1989 & 1990. No complete sets, just a hodgepodge of cards including 3 each of these platinum cards. It is strange the things one can accumulate in this hobby. 

I'm glad you asked about these.  Neither Beckett nor SCD did a thorough job of cataloging the platinum sets, so we've been adding them as we find them in the wild.  I just checked eBay and found another 4 that we didn't have listed.

And one of these days, when I finally unearth my archives, we may wind up listing even more. *I* just have to be careful we don't list things that weren't made available.
