Have I got a bender for you guys! I've got 25 of these cards and two stickers with no knowledge of the language. I want to database them, but I couldn't tell you what year these were produced, or by who, or for that matter, what?

I'm pretty sure that's Ultraman. That's all I've got for you.

It is. I found a site that had a katakana keyboard and googled the symbols that show up underneath the little man on the back. Ultraman Taro. That's all I've found so far.

The copyright line at the bottom just says Tsuburaya, the name of the production company that produces the shows and owns the character. After about 10 minutes of searching, I'm really surprised not to find the usual in-depth fansites about Ultraman that you can find for Power Rangers or Godzilla. There are sites all about the toys or current trading card games, but nothing in the super-geek depth I would have expected. I guess those are all in Japanese.

Ok, had I just waited another 5 minutes before posting I could have gotten straight to the answer. These are from a set produced by the candy company Lotte (the same company that owns the Marines in Japan and the Giants in Korea). The set seems to be called Ultra Monsters and came in a strip of 5 with a piece of gum. (info found here: http://star.ap.teacup.com/ultra/600.html).
Still hunting...

Google translate was almost unhelpful... You really got to think outside the box to fully get what google says they're saying.

Ok, with the help of Yahoo Auctions and the Ultraman Wiki, I'm filling out the checklist. Still haven't pinned down the year, yet.
No. 32 is Gokinezula.

It's a neat-looking monster, whatever it is! I like this better than the current RCOTD.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
