I am with you. 3/4 of my post office workers are awesome. My 4 year old son knows them by name. The one super-clerk is the only problem. The post office is close to my house and close to a park and mcdonalds so I always go in. Human interaction is a good thing.

I drive by the post office every day. We have one postal worker. When she goes to lunch the post office closes. The advantages or disadvantages of having a town population of under 500.

Shows to me that some people still want to do minimal work and get paid top $$ for it. Knowledge is key and she seemed to lack it or be concerned about gaining it. Just blame your co-workers for your problems.

It definitely depends on which PO you go to. Some places will mail something to Canada for over $10 and you need to fill out a customs form, and others it costs me like a couple bucks and no forms to fill out. Mind you these packages are identical in size and vary in weight by an ounce or two, but nowhere near double digits.
Amazing how there seems to be no knowledge or consensus in the entire USPS as to what is proper and what isn't.

Dealing with the USPS is almost comical these days. Last week I was in my local P.O. and ask the clerk about a status on my package coming to my house. Online it said in route to. I asked if that meant to the P.O. or if it was on the way to my mailbox. He told me to the P.O. well when I got my mail that day it was in my box. I realized from now on i will not ask them any thing.

Which online tracking did you use? USPS tracking link provided by a seller (ebay, Amazon, etc), USPS Tracking, or USPS Informed Delivery? I have found USPS Informed Delivery to be the most accurate and up-to-date.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
