We didn't get Dr. Demento in our area when I was growing up, but one of our local stations did a "Comedy Hour" on Sunday nights. Based on the responses above, they played a lot of the same stuff.
I'll add "Wet Dream" by Kip Addotta to the discussion.
It is very clever and nowhere near as lewd as the title suggests.

Every time I hear Dr. Demento it brings me back to high school, playing Risk in my friends basement and listening to his show every Sunday night.
