Does anyone know why Matt McLain was not included in Bowman Draft? Or any Bowman card?

Three thoughts. He didn't sign a contract with Topps or they just decided he wasn't worthy of cardboard. Or, noticing which brands he did appear on, did he even join the MLBPA? He was the number 17 overall pick in last years draft and is currently the Reds #5 prospect. My guess is he didn't sign with Topps. It's just weird.

Any chance it's because 2021 was the 2nd time he was drafted? I looked at a similar player, JT Ginn, who was drafted, turned the contract down to play in college, then got drafted again, and he also had a year delay on his first Bowman card. Just a total guess on my part. McLain appears to be the only 2021 draft pick who had been drafted before but didn't sign out of high school.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
