This one is a gut punch. He is one of two players I specifically collect. I too was too young to see him play, but became a fan after meeting him at a card show in 1988. He was a total class act and truly one of the nicest people I have met. I got an autographed picture that day (autographs were only $6 !!!) and shortly thereafter bought my first card of his (1963 Fleer). I slowed on collecting him after 2008 due to other collecting interests (plus the incessant number of new parallels made it impossible to keep up), however, I still pick up some of his cards occasionally. His rookie card and autographed bat, jersey, lithograph, baseballs and mini helmet are some crown jewels of my collection. RIP, Mr. Oriole.
