I have the limited edition of 250,000 hologram and the signature series of 2,500 hologram. I have found both cards in the appropriate listings on this site. My 'problem' is that my signature series of 2,500 DOES NOT have a signature. This problem does not appear to be common, as I can't seem to find a signature series listing of these cards without an autograph. Am I missing something (probably) or do I have a rare card (doubtful), or something in-between (very possible)?

I just bought a Ken Griffey Jr. Signature Series /2500 today locally out of a dollar box for my Oddball/ Griffey Jr PC and same thing no autograph and no remnants of one having been there.

Signature Series can be misleading. Yes, it implies an autograph; however, not always the case. That term has also been used to highlight a player, to put a spotlight on them. Think of an artist that has what people will call a signature piece, the artwork or music that identifies to them. Here, the term is used to highlight a series of players.

Well the tcdb.com checklist specifically states AU for autographed , so I don't think that actually applies especially if everything else online shows signed , it's possible a few were leaked out or stolen at printing and Griffey Jr. and the other's never saw them?

Doesn't mean the checklist is right. Someone could have easily entered that note without knowing any better. At same time I'll concede that this set looked like it was supposed to be AU. So what you have could be several things to include unsigned backdoored card, unsigned released during bankruptcy proceedings or you were just unlucky enough to get one that slipped through the cracks and never got signed.

What exactly do you want from this? You've added nothing of value here and continue to say it's just implied that it's autographed , yet as mentioned twice these are supposed to be signed cards in this set , there's even photos as well showing literally a signed card back with serial numbers , my Griffey isn't serial numbered on the back or signed , OP had a Barry Sanders unsigned , not sure if serially numbered but likely not , As mentioned above by myself I would think these could be backdoored cards or even proofs printed to be replacements or test cards at printing.

Don’t know why the previous post in this thread got hostile, I for one appreciate jimetal attempting to help with this set. Thought I would mention I have a Joe Montana with this same thing going on…
“Signature Series of 2,500” also without autograph or serial number.
According to reports then, we have a Griffey Jr., a Barry Sanders, and Montana all without autographs. Have no idea how these should be categorized, but it’s a thing.

No one has been able to show that there are actual autographed versions, which Jim alluded to that the checklist here is potentially incorrect - a fact that wasn't accepted by someone else in the thread.
Unless someone can show autographed versions of these, then the checklist should be updated to remove the AU Note.
