I was going through a box of miscellaneous baseball cards I got as a birthday gift, and I was logging the 1986 Topps cards that were in the set, when I noticed that TCDb listed the worth of the Howard Johnson card as $1.75, which struck me as odd. I looked up his Baseball Reference page, and he didn't have a particularly standout season in 1986 or 1985 in terms of raw numbers, and it isn't an error card either, so why is the card worth so much? Is this just a case of TCDb having some strange price points?

The site itself doesn't determine any market values or prices. It's just a median of what others paid on ebay, at retail shops and other places and relies on users to provide that info.

It is because all prices need to be a combination of the card number and $5.71 and $7.15 is outrageous.

Pricing is a grain of salt here. Can't stress that enough. 20 cents on SportLots before shipping. In reality, less.than that.
