Cards from wax packs have their numbers in the upper right corner when the card is flipped on its left edge, while cards from factory sets have their numbers in the lower left corner instead. (The backs look the same -- each printing just changed their orientation.)
In other words, if you're looking at the front of the card on a table or desk or whatever, flip it over its left edge so you now see the back of the card, but don't rotate it! Now check where the card number is. If it's in the upper right (which forces you to rotate your head clockwise to read the back), you have a pack version. If it's in the lower left (which forces you to rotate your head counter-clockwise to read the back), you have a factory set version.
