Fine members,
If you've been following some of the various forum threads, you might have seen that a few of us were verifying versions of the 1990 Donruss cards. Over the course of the next several days, I will be preparing the checklist that is already here to take the addition of about 1,300 more entries (give or take a few). Please, I ask of you all to please refrain from making any changes to the checklist. That includes editing of Notes, changing the sub-number lettering, and updating any images. Please wait until I have responded to this forum thread that I am finished and ready for everyone to add what they can. As usual, there will be an e-mail from SiteAlerts that will go out to all who have cards from this set in their collections describing the changes made and what individuals will need to do to handle the changes.
Because so many variations in this set exist already, it's making it very difficult to put together the checklists for the additional variations, especially since some variations already listed could only be seen with certain other variations. (As an example, one card with a black line through a letter only was seen with "INC." on the back, while the version without the black line through a letter has only been verified to exist with "INC" on the back. So both are already listed, so I have to skip that one in the additions.) Some of the Factory Set differences are already in our checklist as well. Point I'm trying to make is that there is a lot of analysis that needs to happen here. It's not as simple as making 3 copies of a checklist, changing the Note2 fields and uploading (pretty much what 1989 Donruss was like). Additionally, there are errors that appear in both dot/no dot versions, as well as the corrected card.
We also discovered along the way that (thankfully) a few of the double-printed cards have 2 different borders that were in packs as well as the FS version. Also grateful that those cards didn't have other errors that got corrected along the way. Having the 5 different versions (potentially) is bad enough.
I have already begun making some "light" edits to the set. Tomorrow should see the addition of VAR and VAR: <reason> in the notes fields and the adding/changing of the sub-number lettering.
More announcements to follow. Thank you for your patience during this transition.
