A couple of helpful hints moving forward for these sets with the multiple variations:
1 - Use the filter at the top of the set's checklist page. Admin (for most of these) and a few of us have gone through a great effort to ensure the cards show up in the correct filter.
2 - Most of the time, we were able to keep all of one variant with a single subnum letter (that is, all of the INC. (dot is [a], all of the INC (no dot) is [b], etc.), however the 1990 set was crazy. With all the All-Star errors, lines through the names errors, and with the Baines AS card, both, I think we got up to the letter [g] on some cards. But there became no rhyme or reason to keeping the letters on a single variant type (because of the errors and other VAR types). When I discussed the formatting of this set with Admin, we agreed that each card would simply be assigned [a], [b], [c], etc. until all VARs were listed for that card number. We did follow a specific method, but there were too many different VARs to have each letter represent a single VAR type.
3 - Check all cards in the set for that particular number and/or player. Also, check the player's profile page and filter on the number. Not everyone has listed the cards as VARs in the sets so they might exist in a separate set (if this is the case, an IR would be helpful for us to get them licted the way they should be).
No apologies necessary, Muskie. It should help countless other collectors, and that's a good thing!
