My son recently passed away and I've been going through his baseball cards as a form of grief therapy. It's been quite helpful. I've waded through and organized his entire collection by brand/year and started ordering the cards by teams because that's the he liked to organize his cards. For some reason none of the cards as I found them were in any order that I could figure out. Seemed random to me.
While sorting the cards I noticed some peculiarities in many of the (incomplete) sets. Printing errors. Mostly off-center cuts, blurred prints, etc. Got me curious so I poked around on you tube and via google and stumbled upon the Red Mennace. Dennis the Mennace was our favorite cartoon and we're Irish ... red is in our blood. So his 1990 donruss cards (most numerous of his bunch) stood out.
Anyone know what the white dot is above Kirby Puckett's name? Also, this card appears to be off center compared to three others he had in his collection. And the lines behind this card's name bleed into the cursive and leave a small red gap. (BTW, there's no dot after INC on the back ... just trust me on this).
I'm not looking to profit from any of my son's cards. His (he)art is not for sale. Just curious. Wonder if this card sparks any interest other than those interested in acquiring it from me.
In His Grip,
Russell
