There was a refractor parallel to the Record Breakers Relics set. I am writing this before any actions are taking place. This is to inform all of what will happen over the course of the next little while.
- A new set will be created that will be a complete parallel to the Record Breakers Relics set (called Record Breakers Relics Refractors)
- The current set will have their card numbers corrected
- Images that are in the "base" set (set currently on TCDB) that are actually the refractors will be moved
- An e-mail will go to each member who has at least one of these cards in their collection, on their want list, or in the for sale/trade list to inform them to read this thread
If you received such an e-mail, please note that your collection may be incorrect. The font used on the backs of these cards are very likely the worst font ever used on a baseball card - ever (personal opinion), the letters are hard to read and it is almost impossible to distinguish an A from an R. I think this has contributed to the confusion. Please note that any movement of collection info will need to be handled by the individual members who have these cards in their collection.
To help alleviate the confusion, here are the differences I have found:
The Base set has a green background coloring on the front. The backs are blue and the cards are numbered with CRBR- and then the player's initials. Some players have more than 1 card and in that case 2 and 3 is appended to the number.
The Refractor parallel set has a purple (blue?) background coloring on the front. The backs are yellow and are numbered with RBCR- and then the player's initials (and any 2s and 3s as needed). Additionally, the word REFRACTOR is displayed in small capitals below the card number.
On behalf of the database, we apologize for any inconvenience.
