I just acquired this set sealed and want to enter it into the database but I do not want to open it. Does anyone know what variations are in the set or are there different variations in different sets? Thanks.

Your best bet is to use the option to enter it as a set instead of individual cards. You won't know for sure what you have until it's opened.

Where is that option? I selected enter all cards into collection without ERR/VAR but it did not enter anything for 15 cards.

When on the Collection Summary screen scroll down the options for entering single cards. Below that you'll see a sectioncalled Sets. From there you'll have the option to enter the entire set. I do believe you can enter it as a factory set as part of the dropdown options.

For what its worth, I acquired 2 factory sets last year. The white cardboard box version contained all no-glow backs while the more colorful box contained all glow back cards.

If it's a factory-sealed set, there most likely will not be multiple examples of the same card, so only one variation. Those variations are determined by when the sheets were printed.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Since it is not worth crap, I might as well open it. It is the colorful box version. It doesn't appear to have any inserts or extra cards stated on the box. You raise new questions for me. Are glow backs worth more? What about the cards with a noticeably darker 40th Anniversary logo?

Not a huge premium for the glow backs, or the darker logos, or the darker logos that are also glow backs. But there are variation collectors like myself that are trying to piece together the entire master set of all four options.

From the little I have seen the non glow backs are less plentiful. Still not any sort of premium other than to a small number of people. If you do open it post what you find here.

Do I have to get a black light to determine if they are glow backs?
