To the best of my knowledge, this was resolved in all factory sets. So...packs had the error (Royals cap) and all factory sets had the correct (Brewers cap). This is usually the case when an error is found in Series 1 Topps cards. Not as likely to be the case with Series 2.

Error? He was a Royal in 2005 so the image is correct for a 2006 set. By the time of issuing final series or factory sets a current 2006 image can be used. In this case it looks more like they photoshopped the 2005 Royals image for an update.

Both versions should be VAR, not ERR/COR.

It says he is a Brewer on the card and usually players aren’t shown with their old team, so he should be photoshopped into a brewers uniform on the base card. So if one was factory set only, it would be two separate cards.

He was traded from the Royals to the Brewers on Dec. 21, 2005. This was obviously not in time for the printing of the card, as it still has the Royals logo on the reverse. Apparently, it was in time for the foil stamping on the fronts to adjust it to be Brewers. When they ent back to make any adjustments for the Factory Set, they changed the logo on the reverse as well as photoshopping the cap and uniform. We have it listed here as an "a" and a "b" version - 2 separate cards. I'm failing to understand the problem here.

No problem...the OP was asking where the second variation/corrected version/whatever you want to call it where he is in a Brewers cap could be found.

I just didn't want someone reading your "error" and "corrected" references to make changes to the VAR notes.
