Where did this set come from? Does it belong in the database? Someone please explain. Thank you.

Card set about musicians - it belongs. Or as Pat Benatar sang, "we belong".

This company seems to be the source
https://renaissancerecordsus.com/j2-cards/
For ones I see on ebay, there is no copyright or licensing info on the cards. The NASA set says they are "approved" by NASA and that the photos are authorized by NASA or JPL.

My problem with the set is that there is no Cyndi Lauper card. Perhaps I don't understand what their criteria were or maybe they should stick to the space program.
I'm pretty sure that if you ask a 100 people my age to list all of the New Wave performers that they can think of, when you go through the results you will find that Cyndi is listed time after time.

'that the photos are authorized by NASA or JPL'. I believe they call that marketing weasel talk.
All photos produced by NASA (or any US government agency for that matter) are public domain. They can't be copyrighted.

So a set of unlicensed sports cards with active players is not allowed. But a set of unlicensed cards with some active musicians is? Musicians and their record labels have no rights to their images being used without authorization?
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I notice J2 Cards added all the front scans themselves, or some fan created a profile using their name.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I do believe these (as well as some other J2 sets) were brought ot Admin's attention previously, and he allowed them to stay.
