I have had to hunt-down Ebay for actual card #'s in the 2023 Topps Japan Edition, and other sets. The checklists that Topps releases are very-lacking for sure in regards to card numbers.

They will have the Japanese star rookies in Series 2, and Ohtani in a Dodgers' uniform.

I am going to be strange and say there are two cards I am most excited about, Coco Montes and Justin Lawrence.  Montes has never had a Rockies card before and Lawrence was only on a multi-player rookie in 21 Update, so this is his first solo card.  I don't care one bit about the new rookies.  Most others don't either and will quickly forget about most of them by the time Series 2 comes out.

Don't put it past Topps to do some wonderful airbrushing. Yamamoto in a Dodgers uni before spring training even starts? Yeah, that's Topps for you. Use an image from last year and eliminate that Japanese uniform. 

I'm excited for the Zack Gelof rookie. He played travel ball with my cousin from when they were kids up into high school and they also won a state championship together in high school. We don't have a ton of pro athletes out of my high school in Delaware so it's pretty cool when it happens. Their high school team was pretty stacked as it also had Zack's brother Jake who is in the Dodgers organization and my cousin Mason Fluharty who is in the Blue Jays organization.

I just think they really hit it out of the park from a design perspective. It's slick and clean like you'd expect from modern cards, but the neon distinguishes it from the 2023 and 2022 designs, and the gradient from black to white on the border is another that really stands out. The font choice for player names is bold and readable, and the neon baseball diamond around the team logo is a nice touch. I'm a bit so-so on the other mainline Topps designs for the 2020s, but this is one I really like for sure, but I won't be able to give it a full assessment until I've got the cards in hand.
