I'm thinking I might be done collecting Topps Heritage. The SP's are out of control. I'm mostly a base set team collector. More than 1/3 of this years Reds team are SP's (not including variations, which I don't pursue). I have so many SP holes for past years, that are hard to easily obtain since I don't have any to trade to get the ones that I want. Buying packs/boxes, (if you can find them) is just too expensive. Sorry, rant over!

The SPs are challenging and if wasn't for networking with others in my local area, and putting bounties on the SPs with dealers that set up at cards shows, I too would struggle to complete the sets. TCDB is good for sourcing them, but without the doubles (SPs) I acquire from those that I already mentioned, I would have little to no tradable SP cards to trade for the ones I am still need. Some people will trade them without requesting an SP back, while others will require an SP in return. Also, usually when it's a new product they will only trade a current year SP for the same current year SP. I like the challenge of finding all the SPs, but there are many that do not as well.

I never get current year Heritage. I wait a few years when everyone else has moved on and then get what I need for less than half of what it was once going for. At least I've been lucky enough that way. FWIW

I tell myself that I'll wait a while before buying but I apparently have no willpower.

For me it's amazing how the willpower is checked when I see the $$$ 😂. Too many other things to chase while I wait.

Yeah, the SP lists get longer and longer each year it seems. One might have to skip the whole pack-buying efforts and just try to pick up SP lots somehow on Ebay or elsewhere, not only fill one's collection but have things to trade. If the money's gotta go somewhere...

Yes the SPs are a challenge to get unless you just want to buy them piece by piece. I’m in the same boat in hunting them down but I’m narrowing it down to 2020 for now, 1971 Topps is one of my favorite designs.
With 2024 coming out I can see myself getting into it as well since I do like the 1975 design.
I’m more concerned about getting in to deep if I finish the entire sets including HHN series.moving on to other years means lots more time and money spent.
