1990-91 Score Hottest and Rising Stars Hockey Forum

If not, what's the difference ?

The back of the Rising Star card is a different shade of blue - more of a light purple. Score hockey is always funny with the Canadian, American and Canadian Bilingual sets. It's very confusing sometimes. 

Another difference is that there are only 100 cards in the Hottest and Rising Star set, so although Gretzky gets card #1 in both sets, most of the other cards are numbered differently.

Also, according to hockeydb.com, "The set was issued by Score along with a booklet giving information on the players."

I've found that the 100 set cards tend to be on a darker cardstock. I don't know if that's true for all of them because mine have come to me second or third hand, however, they have done from multiple sources. 

Easiest way to tell is to have them stacked and look at the side of the cards. 

Thanks to all who have responded.   Yes, now I do see the blue stripes on the back are a lighter blue and the background on the backs are an off-white compared to the glistening white on the major set.
