1993-94 O-Pee-Chee Premier Hockey Forum

   I was going to add a couple UER notes I observed to this set while splitting it into team sets:

#17 (base & gold) - white name & number on back [correct should be black]

#528 (gold only) - Hartford color scheme used for Premier logos & name bar on back [correct should be Florida colors]

However, the Note fields do not appear when turning editing on.  Has this set been "locked" & therefore is unable to be edited further?

   The same UERs exist in the Topps Premier set as well, but that is still edit-able.  Will the OPC set require IRs?

I don't believe font colors nor color schemes constitute an UER.

Can't really know if the maunfacturer intended for a specific color scheme etc.  Its an inconsistency, not a  UER

Well, that's why I didn't rush to make edits & asked the peanut gallery first, but, as a "rebuttal" to the responses so far...

#1 - see 1990 ProSet Football (Saints white/black variations)

#2 - 22 of 23 Florida Panthers cards have red/blue triangles & blue name bar, 16 of 16 Hartford Whalers cards have blue/green triangles & green name bar (#528 Jamie Leach was with Hartford the previous season, but claimed by Florida over the summer, and Topps did not "correct" his card's blue/green Hartford color scheme, therefore it is the very definition of an UER)

The crux of the problem is, how do we know if the colors shown were not the ones intended. If they were meant to have those colors by the manufacturer then not a UER. The Pro Set version is an and example where they explicitly went back to make a change, for whatever reason, could have just been aesthetics. That created an intentional variation. Pro Set was good for that with their living sets/print runs

If a company makes an adjustment, so be it - it's a VAR. If they have a couple of outliers, so be it, it's a card. :)

Neither case is an "error", corrected or uncorrected.
