What's the difference or how can you tell what the differences are. I only know the wording on Andy Van Slyke is different. But there nothing anywhere else indicating what the differences are. Trying to find out about Piazza in specific, but if anybody has any info on any of the others that would be great.

Looks like the text wraps differently on the promo. The production version starts the 2nd line with (1, while the promo version has the (1 at the end of the first line. The placement of the graphics over the photo is also different. On the promo, the orange 1994 bar completely covers where his sleeve joins the torso of his jersey.
It looks like all of the promos have the graphics on the back farther left, or the placement of the photo is farther to the right.

I can finally see the difference. It's the writing on the back. I've looked at soo many of these cards they were beginning to all look the same...

Looks like these were inserted in regular Topps Series 1 Hobby, not here. For some reason the promos in this TSC set don't have the "1st Day Issue" stamp that was seen on the Topps ones. Does anyone know if the ones in Topps Series 1 Hobby had the same stamp as Series 2?

Something else to add from Beckett:
Limited instances of duplicitous parties transferring the FDI foil logos from "common" players to the fronts of "star" players were chronicled shortly after release - thus it's recommended for collectors to take a close look at the logo on front before purchasing these cards.

That's funny you say something about the first day issues. Because I looked at a few different first day issue Piazza cards and the backs were different. The writing was that of the promo. So the promo should say first day issue on it, or is this a undocumented card in the database..

All of the players who had promos (Van Slyke, I-Rod, Piazza, Hamelin, Molitor, Clark, etc) were also double printed First Day Issue cards inserted in regular 1995 Topps packs. These Topps insert FDIs have the same text/cropping differences that the promo cards do. This is how you cane tell if you, say, Piazza, is an FDI from Stadium Club packs or Topps packs.

The promos of the base 1995 Stadium Club set were not distributed in any wax packs (Topps or Stadium), they were issued one card per dealer order form. I have owned two of them, both complete with paperwork and the single (random) promo was in a penny sleeve attached to the paperwork.
To further clarify re: the 1995 Stadium Club First Day cards...the whole set of First Days were not inserted in Topps packs, just the following 9 players: Dunston, Molitor, Hamelin, Sierra, Clark, Piazza, Van Slyke, Tackett and I. Rodriguez. This is why they have earned the DP moniker in Beckett and SCD books, however, the actual Stadium Club pack issued versions of each have cropping and text variations, so technically none of the 9 players are actually double printed.
