2011 Panini Rookies & Stars Football Forum

Does anyone know why the "Longevity" parallels are not listed as parallels to the base set, and instead listed on their own? I'm not a big football collector anymore, but I have one Longevity in my group of about 20 base cards, so I doubt I presonally bought this as a separate product.

That being said, was "Longevity" released separately from the regular Rookies & Stars set? That's something Panini would do...just wondering for our purposes why it's listed on its own. Thanks!

Separate release yes. But I think the regular set has gold/platinum/silver/silver holofoil longevity parallels. I hate Panini for doing this.

Okay, that makes sense. And assuming that there is no way to tell the difference between the Longevity set released separately and the ones inserted into the R&S set (unless you know where yours is from, like me), it would be redundant to have them listed as both an insert in the R&S set, and separately.

Our way of handling it makes sense, that is. Panini's shenanigans do not. Thanks!

I don't know about the Football set, but the NBA base set was normal stock and the Longevity set was almost mirror foil. It's a stock I've not seen Panini use on any other set, which is unfortunate, because it looked like mirror foil in hand but actually scanned well. The inserts and parallels all had the same stock.

There's a difference, but don't have time atm to research it from my phone.

Stop blaming Panini for this. Donruss/Playoff did the exact same thing before they sold everything to Panini. Longevity is it's own release. Retail Longevity cards are a parallel of the base card.
