2011 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects Baseball Forum

I have this 2011 charlie furbush gold rc that is way thicker then the other cards like it was used as a decoy. Is this a variation or just just a plain gold?

For several years the Bowman Gold parallel was thicker stock. Part of this was for it to also serve as the decoy card from the relics as pack searching was prevelent.

Just wasn't sure if it had its own set or just a random decoy since i have 2 other golds that are not thick

From the same year's Bowman Gold or different years? Like jimetal7212 mentioned, they can vary. Some of them were definitely more like the thickness of a base card while others were that decoy thickness.

I'm not in front of my cards, but pretty sure base Bowman Gold was the normal, thin stock, but the Bowman Draft card you are showing could be the thicker stock. In 2011, the numbering in base and Draft weren't distinguishable so you may have both types mixed together. 

Didn't know the furbush was a draft card. I have a same year hank conger #219 bowman gold rc that is thin and another one but don't know where i put it

I'm no expert on this particular set but manufacturers have used different stock thickness in the past on hobby vs. retail cards.

The Gold parallel is correct.
