1996 Collector's Choice Baseball Forum

There are 2 different Ripken NNO Headers from the Upper Deck 1996 inserts. One from Series 1 and one from Series 2. Series 2 looks to have a black signature across the front while Series 1 has no signature. I only have one of these but mine has a silver signature across the front. I'm so confused!

The Series 1 image we have here does show a signature, though I can't say for sure if i it's silver since it's relatively faint. But the scan does look pretty much like the card I have in my collection which definitely has the facsimile signature on the front, so the card you have seems to be correct.

But take a look at the picture from the card from Series 2. That has a heavy black signature.

Easy way to tell the diffence is that S1 has the Collector's Choice logo along with the UD one on the front. S2 is only the UD logo.

That makes sense, but why is my signature in silver?

Because silver foil often scans as black.

That's very odd, but good to know
