Zoilo Versalles spent the entire 1969 season with two teams firstly Cleveland and later on the Washington Senators. His 1969 Topps card (as well as the O-pee-chee counterpart) prominently list him both in uniform and front of card with the Padres, whom he never played a game with. However, the back of the card states, "The Cleveland Indians obtained Zoilo from the Padres on Dec 3, 1968. San Diego got 2 players for him". I was looking at the FAQ hierarchy and #1 is Use team in any "Traded to, Signed with, Now with, etc. Statement printed on card. Now usually those statements are listed on the front of the card, but #1 doesnt distinguish between front and back. #4 does state to use team name printed prominently on back of card (not in biographical write-up), so does #4 negate #1 in this case? Just trying to understand if team should be reassigned in this case or not.
Thank you

The team is correct as is.
The line on the back would be considered a "biographical write-up", and not a "Traded To/Now With" statement.
Thus, #2 (Use team printed on the front of the card) would take precedence.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Looks like this card was updated to Indians at some point. According toy what Jason wrote, Indians is incorrect.

Jason, the cards currently list him with the Indians. Based on your statement I believe he should be listed with the Padres.

The Topps one was changed in June. The rest were just updated to match that one, but if that's wrong, we can easily put everything back.

I would consider that first line a trade statement not a biographical write-up.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

On a related note shouldn’t the Phillies card for 151 be sub numbered a and the Orioles 151 be sub numbered b?
