I just secured my final card to complete this base set. As I am considering whether or not to try and complete the platinum parallel, it dawned on me there are platinum checklists. How can you tell the difference between the base and platinum checklists in this set?

I'm not sure I understand your question. If the Platinum cards are a complete parallel set, there would be no difference in the checklists. Are you asking something else?

Sorry for the confusion. I mean the actual checklist cards themselves, not what is listed in the checklist. Cards 248-250 in the set are three checklist cards. What are the differences between base 248 and platinum 248? How can you tell them apart?

In that case there are three cards that need to be deleted from the Platinum checklist. You on it Billy?

This might be one of those times where they did make checklists for the parallel. According to BCP and Beckett the Platinum is a full 250 card set. Looking at SportLots they have cards 248 and 249 for sale, 1 of each from the same seller. It'll be logical 250 exists just not for sale there right now.

Yes, which led me to post this question. If I look at any of the scans of the checklists, they are not really great to begin with, but I don't see any distinguishable difference in them.

From what I can tell, the backs appear to have a different shade of gray. I'd have to have both versions in my hands to really know the difference though.

Well, I decided to buy the two checklists on Sportlots and do a side by side comparison. I see no difference between the checklist cards I already had (which I assume are base) and the checklist cards I purchased (which were listed as platinum). Here are some photos:

I know it’s not easy to compare them using the photos, but after looking at them laying flat on the table and then picking them up and looking for variations in the light reflections, I can tell no difference. I’ve sent a question to the Sportlots seller but I haven’t heard back yet.
