With a 660-card set remaining consistent for the 4th year in a row, a somewhat standard card set size had been developed for the first time since the 598-card set had by released 4x between 1962-1968.
For the 2nd year in a row, wax packs of 1976 Topps cost 15 cents for 10 cards, although I heard that 10 cent packs containing 7 cards were also available (can anyone confirm?).
Featured subsets include the Father/Son combination cards, which were also redone again in the 1985 set. Z Record Breakers subset was included for the first time, which would be continued in many of the sets up through part of the '90s. Other subsets include the League Leaders, All-Time All-Stars, PostSeason Highlights, and Rookie Combos.
A 44-card Topps Traded subset was also included in regular wax packs later during the year, and were numbered just like the player's base card but with a "T" added at the end. It was nearly identical in format to the 1974 set.
I purchased my first 1976 set shortly after getting back into the hobby after after a 10-year hiatus in 2001.
