Earlier today they announced the next inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I chose this set to mention it because there are a few Bon Jovi cards in the set. This years field includes:
Bon Jovi
The Cars
Dire Straits
Nina Simone
The Moody Blues
Sister Rosetta Tharpe
I think this is a great class, and I'm so happy The Cars finally got in. There are still many more that should go in, but I think this class was a huge step forward. Now I need to find my Greatest Hits CD from the Cars and rock out.

Probably all deserving, though none of them are among my favorites.
And, really, both Buster Posey and Joe Mauer are better than The Cars.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!
Posey one could argue but not Mauer. That's like replacing Ric Ocasik with Todd Rundgren.

Finally something we can agree on. Question is, are they all better than YADi?

I’d put Dire Straits in the Hall of Very Good.

Good class. I'm unfamiliar with a couple names. I should've learned how to play the guitar...

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Of the inductees, I've seen the Moody Blues in concert, but I'm a bigger fan of Dire Straits. Only liked Bon Jovi before Springsteen told them to change their sound or they'd never last. (Yes, I heard them in the early days, as I grew up in NJ and they were all over the radio there in the mid-80s, especially on WPST out of Trenton.)
Surprised Dire Straits got in considering their small amount of releases.

Yes, you and I both should have learned to play the guitar. I mean, look at them yoyos. Get their money for nothing and their chicks for free....

I agree as far as my personal taste goes but....
"The band became one of the world's most commercially successful, with worldwide records sales of over 100 million. Dire Straits won four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards—winning Best British Group twice, two MTV Video Music Awards, and various other music awards. According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, Dire Straits have spent over 1,100 weeks on the UK albums chart, ranking fifth all-time."
...HOF stats for sure.
