1962 Topps Jerry Reichow

Jerry Reichow 1962 Topps rookie football card

Happy 90th birthday to Jerry Reichow! Reichow played end and backup quarterback for nine seasons in the NFL: 1956 to 1959 with the Detroit Lions, 1960 with the Philadelphia Eagles, and 1961 to 1964 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played on two NFL Championship teams, the 1957 Lions and 1960 Eagles.

Reichow was an original Minnesota Viking. His best season was 1961, the team’s inaugural year, when he caught 50 passes for 859 yards and eleven touchdowns. He was selected for the Pro Bowl at the end of the 1961 season.

After retiring as player, Reichow stayed with the Vikings for another 55 years, starting as personnel director, and serving in a number of roles. He retired in 2019.

Today’s card of the day is Reichow’s rookie card, a 1962 Topps. You can see all of Reichow’s cards in the Gallery.
