Texas Rangers Who Never Wereby Tastybrisket10 - 4 cards (Last updated on May 12, 2024) |
1. 2023 Topps #404 Yoshi Tsutsugo
Yoshi signed as a free agent prior to the 2023 offseason and was assigned to AAA Round Rock, was released June 22, 2023 without ever having made an appearance with the Rangers. |
2. 2017 Topps #524 James Loney
James Loney signed prior to the 2017 season as a depth signing but did not make the opening day roster out of spring training and was released on March 27. Loney would sign 2 weeks later with the Detroit Tigers. |
3. 2016 Topps #516 Steve Johnson
Steve Johnson never pitched a game for the Rangers. He was released March 14 after pitching 3 1/3 spring innings. Steve signed with the Seattle Mariners a few days after his release. What makes this card even greater is this was Series Two, released in June of 2016. |
4. 2004 Topps #316 Chris O'Riordan
While it was unusual Topps made a first year card for a player with less than 50 at-bats in A ball, you can understand why. Chris was a promising prospect but suffered a torn meniscus and missed the 2004-2005 seasons recovering from this injury and multiple others. Chris returned in the San Diego organization in 2006 but never made a major league appearance. |
