Stadiums I've Been To

11. 1989 Panini Stickers #117 Olympic Stadium

What...a....dump! I saw a weekends worth of games there a couple of years after the strike, however as bad as the stadium was I have never been in a louder stadium for a baseball game. The Expos were playing the Braves and, I cannot remember the exact year, were still in contention in August chasing Atlanta. The place was absolutely rocking! MONTREAL NEEDS MLB BASEBALL BACK!

12. 1954 Quaker Oats Sports Oddities #27 Yankee Stadium

Saw a game there its last season in 2008. I had just got married two weeks prior and left my new bride (still happily married by the by) to go on a roadie with the boys. This was one stop on a multi game road trip. Sat right behind home plate WAY UP in the upper deck. After the game my friends and I hoisted a few brews at a bar outside the stadium, and emerging a couple of hours later was treated to a true Bronx moment of two guys yelling at and then beating each other to a pulp.

13. 1990 Publications International Hottest 50 Rookies Stickers #NNO Three Rivers Stadium

Remember when Jason Kendall broke his leg hustling to first base? Ya that was the game I saw at this place. Twenty years later and I really can't remember much about the place, probably because it was so bland and I had to watch that live in person.

14. 2013 Topps Pittsburgh Pirates #PIT17 PNC Park

I can't rave about this stadium enough! It is absolutely beautiful!

15. 1997 Best Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons #13 Ricky Otero

The games I saw at Lackawanna County Stadium (now known as PNC Field) were before the refit. What I remember is the hills surrounding it. I saw Scranton-Wilkes-Barre Red Barons, and then Yankees play. Greatest memory..being picked to go on to the field in between innings to participate in an air guitar contest. My buddy got more applause and won.

16. 2000 Team Best Rookies #216 Pat Burrell

What I remember most about this stadium is not an actual detail of the structure, but the idiocy of a fan. We sat on the first base side just right of the dugout and pretty close to the field. Some woman had the first row seat, and her baby, and spent a good portion of the game holding the baby up on the handrail to "see the game." We were one foul line drive away from a bad situation.

17. 1997 Toledo Mud Hens Team Photo #1 Team Photo

Ned Skeldon Stadium was both awesome and horrible at the same time. The seating down the lines reminded me of any aluminum seating high school park. The atmosphere however was pure Minor League, and therefore awesome. Fondest memory...I have no idea why but while playing the Richmond Braves the Braves mascot was also there. At one point I went behind home plate to the concourse to grab a beer or hot dog and the Mudhens' and Braves' mascots were both there, sitting at a table with beers in front of them...and still wearing the heads. Thus awesome with the pure minor league feel.

18. 2016 Choice Toledo Mud Hens #29 Fifth Third Field

This stadium is beyond awesome! The old warehouses built into the structure, including seating out of them. A must see if in the area!

19. 2019 Topps #245 Rogers Centre

My first trip to Rogers Centre (Skydome) was a road trip up to Toronto from Windsor way before I moved to Georgetown (about a 40 minute drive to downtown Toronto WITHOUT traffic on the 401). The Jays were playing the Royals. Bo Jackson hit a homerun that I swear would still be going if the stadium hadn't got in the way. The thing landed in the 5th deck. The stadium gets a lot of "One of the Worst in Baseball" rep. But having gone there a number of times that is not a fair assessment. Since the Argos left a few years ago and they can concentrate on baseball only configuration there is a great deal of improvement.

20. 1990-91 Unocal Detroit Pistons #NNO Detroit Pistons

Ahh the Bad Boys era of basketball. I saw the Pistons play Sir Charles and the 76ers. Most of my memories of this place are of concerts, as a matter of fact the very first concert I saw was here and...no joke...it was MC Hammer with Vanilla Ice opening. I cleansed my concert going soul with seeing Metallica, AC/DC, Bob Seger, Rush, and many others there after that, although I have to admit MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice was fun.

That's a bunch of stadiums/arenas! The only one in your list that I've been inside of was the Jake. Jacobs Field in Cleveland (now Progressive Field) was my first in-person MLB game as I watched the Indians lose to the Detriot Tigers 4-3. That game was delayed one day by the remnants of Hurricane Katrina and Ivan Rodriguez hit a 2-run HR late in the game to take a 4-2 lead. Cleveland added a run in the 9th, but it wasn't enough. I did drive by the original Yankee Stadium on the way from Cooperstown to NYC that same year though (2005) and the HBC Center where the Buffalo Sabres play 2 days earlier. I also saw the Bears and Browns NFL stadiums before I got to the game at the Jake. All my other sports venues are MUCH farther south.

Fantastic list!  Enjoyed reading your adventures in these places.  As you succinctly put it Hamilton is a nightmare to drive through.

Nice.  Only have Yankee and Rich Stadiums in common.

If I did a list like this, it would include a lot of hockey road trips.  One of them was with a friend going to Buffalo, Hamilton and Binghamton in 1996.  I don't remember any problems going into Hamilton, but I wasn't doing the driving.  We also checked out Niagara Falls and dropped by the Niagara Falls Arena.  The doors were open so we walked in and looked around.
