1989 Checkered Flag Printer Test
Trivia |
- Doug Chappell, President of Checkered Flag and Racing Legends, wrote an article about his companies' Drag Racing prototype cards that was published in Issue #2 of Quarter Milestones. In that article he said of this card:
"Our first drag card was a Terry Adams card that did not say prototype on it anywhere. This was done prior to the production of the 1989 set." ... "We printed about 1000 of these to check out a printer's quality; any released to the public came from Adams himself, who received some of the production. We also ran off a few with sticker backs."
The "1989 set" he referred to was the 1989 Checkered Flag IHRA set. This card was never sold by Checkered Flag but, as stated in the article, some portion of the print run was given to Terry Adams to pass out to his fans.
